Combining the energy of Thrash/Speed Metal with the traditional sounds of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Falling Through Freedom is the debut album from Kaine. The band entered the studio in July 2011 and finished recording the album in March 2012. This album was entirely financed by the band members and the project was undertaken without any label support or management, continuing Kaine’s legacy as an independent and hard working band.

In 2012 a band from East Anglia in England called Kaine released its debut album amidst a scene dominated by Djent, Hardcore, Sludge and Brutality. If the bands weren’t screaming, they were playing complex, technical, instrumentals or Math Metal. Thrash was already dying out with audiences dwindling and Metal, as it was, was looked down on as outdated by the scene. Kaine were not welcome here and found themselves resoundingly rejected.
Upon its release, Falling Through Freedom, although largely ignored by the masses at the time, helped shape the future of the underground British Metal scene. The record ushered in a new era of cleaner vocals, epic guitars and melodies, thunderous drums, and driven bass. With the release of the album true Heavy Metal, inspired by the Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Saxon, Venom, Xentrix and more had come home.
Following the album’s release, the green shoots of true Metal started to be seen again right across Britain & Ireland. Old School Metal started to make a fightback. New bands began to form and self-release their own E.P.s and Albums while the heroes of the NWOBHM started to return and tour again while Kaine’s own career began to launch off of the back of their own DIY activities.
Falling Through Freedom, which has been sold out for many years, is now available to purchase again on CD and Digital Download offering Metal fans the chance to own a piece of Underground Metal history. The record includes popular tracks such as Lost Sage’s Tower, Helpless Salvation, Waking Dead, Valnir, Champion and Quality of Madness and many more which have since been fan favourites at the bands many shows across the UK and Ireland.
